Most email finder tools don't work! Here's the one I use

Finding the company email of a person you are trying to reach out to is not an easy task. It requires a lot of Google searching with no guranteed results (very time consuming!)

The problem with most email finder tools

Over the past few years many email finder tools have entered the market which claim to make the process of finding anyone's email very easy. However, this is not often the case. Here's what I've noticed with most of them:

  • 👎 They charge you 'per email search' - This means that, even if they do not manage to find the email of the person you are searching for, you still get charged for the search.
  • 👎 They only rely on publicly accessible data - This means that when they search for an email, they only check to see if a person's email was mentioned on a website. Most often than not, this doesn't return any results (because people don't just randomly throw their emails on websites)
  • 👎 The emails they provide are invalid - Even if they return an email address, there is a high chance that it is invalid. This is a big con because it means that when you send out an email to this address, it will likely 'bounce'. Having a high bounce rate will massively hurt your deliverability, which will lead to your emails ending up in the spam box.

The tool I recomend

After a lot of searching and experimentation, I finally came across a tool which does what it claims to do.

The tool is called Findymail and it's an email finder which is able to retrieve a person's company email address based on their full name and domain of the company they work at.

Unlike other email finder software, this one does not rely on the search of emails on public websites. It instead uses advanced algorithms to interact with the email servers of the target company and identify an active email address that includes elements of the person's name (e.g. [email protected]). This means that it is able to reach the inbox of the final email address it returns, which means that the email address is valid.

Building a list of valid emails is crucial for a few reasons:

  • You do not run the risk of emails bouncing. Since the email addresses are valid, it means that they are reachable. Lower bounce rates = better deliverability = more emails ending in the inbox.
  • You do not need to pay extra to verify the email addresses. They are all valid and ready for outreach.

Additionally, Findymail only charges a credit for finding a valid email. If it does not manage to find an email, there is no charge for the search.

How to use it

The core feature of Findymail is a simple user interface where you enter the full name of the person you are searching for, and the domain of their company. With the click of the 'Find Email' button, it will perform a search and either return a valid email address or a note saying that the email address was not found.

It does however offer many other features which can help enrich lead lists from different sources with company emails.

Two of these are the 'Apollo.io' and 'LinkedIn Sales Navigator' scrapers. By installing the tool's chrome extension you are able to scrape contact lists from these two websites and automatically search for the email address of each contact. The results can be export in a CSV file.

You can also integrate Findymail with popular cold email tools such as Instantly, Smartlead and Lemlist. It also offers an open API and a Zapier integration which will allow you to flexibly integrate it in any of your existing sales automation.

With that said, I encourage you to sign up for a free trial account with Findymail and test it out for yourself.
